4 Reasons for Beginning

Every journey has a beginning and for Nevana Wellbeing this is it. Its aims are simple in a complex and intricate world of experiences and perspectives. Below are 5 reasons this journey began.

1. Healing & Breaking Cycles

In a world where we are carrying our own childhood experience and for some intergenerational traumas, it is helpful to take time to reflect and grow from this. This prevents unhealthy patterns and cycles recurring and a chance to break them. Often we look for others to help our healing in various ways. This journey can be shared with others, however, healing begins with you. Working on yourself begins with you.

2. Learning

Intellectual self-care helps general life satisfaction. Learning about therapeutic practices and theories has helped develop the inception stage of Nevana Wellbeing. Therapy and mental wellbeing come with its stigmas attached. Stigmas can be created through not knowing and lack of understanding. Learning about therapy and mental health and wellbeing creates understanding and this, in turn, takes away the fear of the unknown.

3. Sharing

Sharing this knowledge goes hand in hand with learning it. With this in mind, one of the aims of Nevana Wellbeing is to share culturally sensitive knowledge of therapy and breaking down the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders).

4. Community

"It takes a village to raise a child." (African Proverb). Nothing occurs in a vacuum, even more so in collective communities where everything is shared (scrutinised).  When knowledge about mental wellbeing is created, learnt and shared it creates a community of like-minded individuals. Like-minded individuals who work on themselves go on to share and raise individuals in the same manner.
